Congress needs to hear facts, and who better to tell them than PFLAGers! Spend an afternoon with PFLAG Seattle to write postcards for The Majority Project, a mass, coordinated mailing campaign to flood congressional offices with the facts and prove the real majority stands for progress.
The goal of The Majority Project is to send 12 million cards to Congress before the mid-term elections. More than 6.5 million have already been sent. The Majority Project cites a Harvard study that found “when just 3.5 percent of a population joins a non-violent action, the movement never fails.” That 3.5 percent translates to 12 million postcards, and the effort is more than halfway there. Let’s do our share to pressure Congress to listen to the majority of voters.
We’ll have postcards for you to write your personal story and message to your congressional representative. Write one! Write two! Write 5! Make it impossible for Congress to ignore the real majority.
Join us for this fun, educational and important advocacy opportunity on Sunday, July 19, 3 to 4:30 pm at the Magnolia Branch of the Seattle Public Library.
