Get ready to march with us in Seattle’s Pride Parade

Posted on

PFLAG Seattle will again be in the Pride Parade on Sunday, June 25, and we’re inviting folks from all PFLAG chapters to march with us. It’s a special year to be in the parade because PFLAG is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. We encourage you to bring signs with messages of love (e.g., “Leading With Love”) and allyship — or “Happy 50th Anniversary, PFLAG!”

New shirts!

What’s different this year? New T-shirts!! To wear in the parade and all year!

As part of its 50th anniversary, PFLAG has a new logo and look, and our shirts reflect that. To march with us, you’ll need a new shirt. Take a look:

The shirt front keeps our longstanding “We Are Family” theme, and the back displays the new PFLAG heart-shaped tagline “Leading With Love.”

When you register to march in the parade, we’ll need the following information:

  • Your name and the names of others marching with you (or everyone can register separately)
  • Shirt sizes for each person
  • Your mailing address (so we can mail the shirts to you)

THE SHIRTS ARE FREE THIS YEAR, but if you’d like to make a donation to our chapter, we’d appreciate that, but it’s not expected. You can donate using our donation page.

Parade info—the basics

The parade is in downtown Seattle on 4th Ave and starts at 11 AM. The route begins at 4th & Union and ends at Seattle Center (about 1.5 miles), where PFLAG will have a booth and you can leave parade items like signs, stickers, banner, etc.

Our staging location won’t be assigned until mid-June, so please sign up for our e-newsletter to be sure to get the final parade details like when you need to arrive at our staging spot. (www.pflagseattle.org/subscribe)

Ready to show your LGBTQ+ pride? Let’s start counting down the days until June 25!
