Online Support Meeting with Christine Yared, author of “Private Love, Public School”
Gerry Crane was a gay, much-loved high school music teacher in the mid-1990s. He was outed by a student, vilified by parents and the anti-gay religious community, harassed and eventually forced to resign. Christine Yared, a lawyer and advocate for LGBTQ+ people, recounts Gerry’s experience in her new book “Private Love, Public School.” She’ll talk about the book and discuss the connection between LGBTQ+-related employment discrimination such as Gerry’s and the need for passage of the federal Equality Act.
PFLAG Seattle provides much-needed support to LGBTQ+ people and their families in the Seattle community. Now, we’re proud to continue providing you trusted support, meeting you where you are—wherever you are.
