Human Rights Conference

NYC Pride’s Human Rights Conference is an exciting gathering of activists, artists, educators, journalists, policymakers, students, and others engaged in LGBTQIA+ human rights.

NYC Pride is proud to announce the highly anticipated virtual Human Rights Conference on Thursday, June 25, 2020, from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm streaming on NYC Pride’s Facebook and YouTube channels!

Expect to see panels like State of the Media led by LGBTQIA+ media organization GLAAD, featuring Black transgender activist, writer and media strategist, Raquel Willis.

Other panels include Be The Change: Driving Intersectional Equality and Inclusion sponsored by Mastercard, Anti-trans Violence and the Role of Guns curated by Everytown for Gun Safety, How Employee Resource Groups Contribute to Corporate Diversity and Inclusion Efforts sponsored by Walmart and LGBTQIA+ Music featuring Shea Diamond, Cristal Ramirez, DJ BMAJR moderated by Mitchell Kuga.

The virtual conference will also include a fireside chat, featuring award-winning media personality and NYC Pride Rally co-host Ashlee Marie Preston and “Queer Eye” hair guru Jonathan Van Ness.

The first Human Rights Conference took place in June 2018. The goal of the event has always been to create a safe space where members of the LGBTQIA+ community could gather to educate one another and engage in necessary conversations.
