Online Support Meeting with guest speaker Michael Failla
April 26 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm PDT
Michael Failla is a Seattle-based man who has worked for several years to help rescue and relocate LGBTQIA+ refugees from countries where they are in danger because of their sexual orientation/gender identity. Much of his work focuses on helping individuals escape dangerous situations in Middle Eastern countries where being gay or transgender marks them as targets for rape, torture, and death. Recently his focus has been helping refugees from Afghanistan escape the threat of the Taliban. He works with various organizations to help relocate these refugees in countries that are safer for them, including in the U.S. and Canada. Michael will talk to us about his work, and share stories of some of the people he has helped find new lives and hope.
Michael will talk during the first hour of the meeting, with the support portion following.
PFLAG Seattle provides much-needed support to LGBTQ+ people and their families in the Seattle community. Now, we’re proud to continue providing you trusted support, meeting you where you are—wherever you are.
