Capitol Hill Support Meeting (in person & online) w/guests from King County Libraries
November 13 @ 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm PST
Our Capitol Hill meeting is back in person—with a new location and time!
Meetings will start at 6:30 pm and last 90 minutes. The new location is a few blocks east of Volunteer Park in a safe neighborhood with on-street parking. The space enables us to provide both an in-person and online experience. We hope you’ll come to our new space when you can; it’ll be nice to meet you in person.
To ensure a safe meeting space, the address will be provided when you register.
Guest speakers: Canelle Irmas and Melissa Mathers of King County Libraries
As the holidays approach, are you looking for book recommendations? Books that have LGBTQ+ themes? Canelle and Melissa will bring some LGBTQ+ booklists and highlight a couple of titles for each age group.
With so many book bans in the news, Canelle and Melissa will also discuss the Library’s Freedom to Read initiative and Intellectual Freedom policies. You never know when it will be our turn to advocate and raise awareness about how reading books about all kinds of topics and people are great ways to help kids learn about the world and thrive.
PFLAG Seattle provides much-needed support to LGBTQ+ people and their families in the Seattle community. Now, we’re proud to continue providing you trusted support, meeting you where you are—wherever you are—in person and online.
To ensure our meeting space remains safe and private, we require everyone to sign-up for each meeting individually. Simply click the Register button and complete the form.
If you’ve attended our meetings before, please use the email address we have on record for you. You can also contact us with any questions.
