Bullying PSA

Posted on

As the new school year begins, there may be many students who fear returning to school because they have been bullied for being perceived as gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender. To cope, these youth may clash with and lash out at the people who want to know what’s wrong and how they can help: parents, friends and other family members. Communication can become impossible.

The chapters of PFLAG (Parents, Families & Friends of Lesbians and Gays) are there for families to find ways to keep communication flowing and to rebuild strong bonds.

Starting this week, the Seattle chapter of PFLAG is unveiling a public-service announcement on Seattle-area television stations that lets youth and their families and allies know there is a safe place to come talk and find support.

Please share our full-length version of the video and this message with everyone you know via Facebook and any other means.

If you or someone you know needs resources to deal with an immediate need, please read through our Bullying webpage for additional information

Thank you and may this school year be a safer place for all students.
